Criw Creu - Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru

I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to work with National Theatre Wales on ‘Criw Creu’, a new national project with support from Urdd Gobaith Cymru and Literature Wales, offering access to the arts for young people across Wales. I also thoroughly enjoyed creating the logo, bringing all the important elements of the project together.

After conducting workshops with three different secondary schools, I then went onto create a unique animation based on those sessions, and around a song they had previously created with Wales’ Children’s Poet Laureate, Casi Wyn.

I was so excited to share the finished products, as they’re all brimming with colour, and are unique to contemporary young Welsh Voices!

M&S Mother's Day Cards 2022

It was such a buzz seeing my designs on sale in M&S in March of this year! I loved creating these floral, uplifting designs, and was so honoured to be able to create bilingual cards.

Hopefully will be seeing more of my designs in store soon!

Blotdeuwedd - COP26

This is certainly the biggest project of 2021 for me, being commissioned by Future Generations Commissioner for Wales to create a short film that would be shown at COP26 in Glasgow.

I was tasked with incorporating the magical snippets of animation throughout the film, emphasising on the etherial journey of Blot-deuwedd and the little girl who sees her when no one else can. It’s a heartwarming story of the hope and change the next generation will bring to our world through caring for ourselves and each other.

It was a privilege to work with an amazing crew, from narrative, script writer and director Iola Ynyr, to amazing actors such as Ceri Lloyd and Iwan Fôn, and of course the wonderful children and staff of Ysgol Rhosgadfan. Beautifully filmed by Steve Kingston and costume designer Lois Prys with her magic eyes, accompanied by stunning music throughout by Osian Gwynedd, and meticulously finished by editor Sam Rhys.

GISDA Animation

It was a real privilege creating this animation for GISDA, a charity that provides intensive support and offers opportunities to vulnerable young people in North Wales. They wanted to promote the brilliant work they do and the services they provide through the Welsh language to those who need it.

This was my first major project as a full time freelancer and I couldn’t have asked for a better brief to work on! Felt amazing to animate for such an inspirational cause, and to include the voices of the young people and staff at GISDA made it so special.

Siop Lyfrau / Bookshop Animation

I was very fortunate to create a piece of work over the Summer to encourage people to support their local bookshops! Thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, it gave me the freedom create a bit of magic in a very serious world! I was also delighted to produce a Christmas version, which really got me in the spirit!

'Twll Bach yn y Niwl' - Book Cover Illustration

I was so excited when I was asked to illustrate the cover for Llio Maddocks’ first novel ‘Twll Bach yn y Niwl’. It was a dream come true and a proud moment when the book came through the post! I also created an animation using a quote from the book to promote the novel, which was a lot of fun!

Saying Stuff!

A personal project of mine, including my two little nephews! They live in Galway, Ireland and can speak three languages! I wanted to make a piece of work dedicated to the beauty of simple words in Welsh, English and Irish! Their voices pronouncing the words makes it extra special!

'Aros' - Music Video

I was asked in the Summer to create a music video for a lovely uplifting song by Lisa Angharad called ‘Aros’. I had a lot of fun with this one, loved creating different scenes and bringing the smiling sun to life!

Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau Artwork

This project has been such an exciting one to work on and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to design artwork for a festival that I know and love. There are so many different elements to bring together, from gig posters to designing beer mats and maps, it’s been a great experience creating a body of work with each piece connecting to the next. Unfortunately the festival was cancelled due to Covid in 2020, so fingers crossed that everything will go ahead in 2021!

Trwy'r Ffenest / Through the Window

This piece felt particularly special and poignant. The brief was to create a piece of work that captured a moment in time as the country was in its first Lockdown. Life changed for everyone, and so many of us looked through the same window everyday, hoping to see the world again soon.
